sculpture courses are designed to build on the student's previous 3D/sculptural studies in regard to materials, techniques and personal artistic development. The objective is to introduce the student to a more advanced knowledge of the various materials, tools, processes and techniques (both traditional and experimental) in regard to working in the round. Independent thinking and conceptual development are emphasized and both representational and abstract ideas are explored. Technical ability and resourcefulness are also stressed at every level. Sample project titles/themes have been "Self-portrait in a Box," "Once Upon a Time...," "Natural Forces, Motion and Dynamics" and "What Makes You Ticked?" Project materials include cast bronze and aluminum, wood, plaster, paper, steel, wax, fabric, clay and mixed media.
