painting courses are designed to build on the student's previous experience in 2Ddesign, color theory, drawing and other painting courses in regard to color, composition, materials and techniques as well as personal artistic development. The objective is to introduce the student to a more advanced knowledge of the various materials, tools, processes and techniques (both traditional and experimental) as they relate to painting. Both representationalpainting2.jpg (315511 bytes) and abstract ideas are explored. Independent thinking and technical ability are emphasized at each level. Projects are intended to enhance the student's creative abilities by developing fundamental aesthetics and personal ideologies while promoting technical proficiency.painting4.jpg (197883 bytes)painting6.jpg (147202 bytes) Project titles/themes have included painting from still life, "Self-portrait in Perspective," "Consumer Goods (Or Not So Good)" and independent study.
