drawing courses are designed to introduce basic drawing skills upon which each individual may build. The student is acquainted with a variety of traditional media including pencil, charcoal, ink, and color pastels along with being encouraged to explore experimental techniques. Students are prompted to develop drawing skills in order to express their own creativity. The course also involves a certain level of idea development. Success is measured with the student's understanding of the technical aspects in conjunction with developing ideas and a working vocabulary of drawing-related terms. Both individual and group projects are assigned.
