theAtelier (pronounced "a-t&l-'yA) is a sculpture and metalwork studio and gallery located in downtown Lexington, Kentucky. theAtelier specializes in the design and creation of sculpture by commission and custom metalwork including home furnishings, architectural details and ornamental ironwork. Notable projects include cast bronze commissions for the Christ Church Legacy Society and The Society of the Good Shepherd, ornamental ironwork for the Maharishi Peace Palace and technical and shop assistance to fiber artist Arturo Alonzo Sandoval with his work Appalachian Knobs. Michael Maxson and Stacey Chinn opened theAtelier in October of 2000.
